Alexander Täuschel wurde 1972 in Darmstadt geboren und wuchs dort in einem der typisch multikulturellen Studentenviertel auf. Er studierte Amerikanistik und Psychoanalyse an der Goethe Universität Frankfurt, von wo aus er auch ersten Schriften veröffentlichte. Sein erstes Buch Lebende Maschinen. Cyborgs, Roboter und deren Menschlichkeit in I,Robot erschien 2008 im wissenschaftlichen VDM Verlag und erhielt außerdem eine Nominierung als Beste Abschlussarbeit der Frankfurter Universität.
